There are common foods that help detox and  flush fat.  After experimenting with different  weight loss protocols  I always come back to the Fat Flush Plan by Anne Louise Gittleman.  The plan is brilliant and helps people lose weight and inches without difficult detox reactions.  The detox foods help with inflammation and general detox of heavy metals and toxins.  As you lose body fat you loose the toxins because they are stored in the fat. The use of biofeedback to assist the detox process works beautifully.  People often loose seven pounds the first week and the toxins gently leave with the fat. I recommend the following foods to detox and flush fat:

Turmeric (clean your liver, the fat burning detoxifier)

Turmeric or cucurmin can assist your liver’s enzymes in flushing out carcinogens from your body. This is critically important for optimal health and efficient fat loss because your liver acts as a natural detoxifier. It’s your body’s fat burning filter. If your liver is not healthy you will be tired and foggy headed.

 Lemon Juice (from fresh organic lemons purge toxins from your blood) Another great food to detox and flush fat…

Fresh squeezed organic lemons in hot water every morning on an empty stomach has a powerful detoxifying effect and will purge toxins from the blood and assist the liver in removing toxins. Lemons are acidic, but inside your body lemons are an incredibly alkaline food that can help balance your body’s pH, which means better health and higher energy levels. Plus lemon juice improves digestion and contains healthy nutrients such as citric acid, vitamin C, bioflavonoids, calcium, magnesium,  and pectin and boosts immunity.

Cruciferous Vegetables  (destroy the BAD, fat storing estrogen)

Add these cruciferous foods to your diet: broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, and cabbage,  arugula, collard greens, swiss chard, bok choy, and  kale.Cruciferous vegetables contain  3,3′-Diindolylmethane or DIM for short. DIM is strongly anti-estrogenic, so it helps block xenoestrogens (  BAD estrogen that accumulates inside your body)  from constant exposure to pastics and petroleum products and pesticides and herbicides.

It is the xenoestrogens that cause women to store more and more belly fat today. It is  also responsible for chronically low testosterone levels in men. This causes facial hair in women and “man boobs” in men and makes it difficult to lose weight.  Plus these foods have anti -cancer properties.  It’s best to consume these veggies with other healthy oils and friendly fats like coconut oil and grass fed butter.  This will greatly enhance the absorption of these powerful fat-fighting nutrients.

These foods will also assist detoxification and flush fat:

Apples (contain pectin and help the gallbladder and liver) Apples are extremely rich in important antioxidants, flavanoids, and dietary fiber.   They are high in pectin and other chemicals essential to cleanse and release toxins from the digestive tract.

Garlic (loaded with sulfur that activates liver enzymes) that help your body flush out toxins. Garlic also holds high amounts of allicin and selenium, two natural compounds that aid in liver cleansing.

Dandelion (Dandelion root tea assists the liver in breaking down fats) Dandelion is a very rich source of beta-carotene which we convert into vitamin A. It contains vitamin C, fiber, potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, and phosphorus. It is a good place to get B complex vitamins, trace minerals, organic sodium, and even vitamin D. Tart Cherries (recover from muscle injury faster, stop inflammation and improve sleep)

The anthocyanins and phenols found in tart cherries have been shown to provide STRONGER protection against muscle injury and damage than anti inflammatory drugs. This small red fruit has been proven BETTER than Ibuprofen for reducing inflammation and muscle soreness.  Plus studies have shown tart cherries to protect against metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease and help with Alzheimer’s.  Tart Cherries also help with sleep and contain melatonin.  They are known to assist the pituitary gland and have a high anti-oxidant score and are low on the glycemic index.  Have a small glass of tart cherry juice before bed and sleep better and flush fat. 

Begin by adding these foods to your diet and take out all grains and dairy for three weeks.  Have a cup of hot lemon water  ( fresh squeezed organic lemon) in the morning on an empty stomach and again at bedtime. Drink 64 ounces of unsweetened cranberry water all day and have 8 ounces of the cran water with 2 teaspoons of ground flax seeds mixed in AM and PM.  This flushes fat and balances hormones.
